Thursday Kids

Update: For 2007-2008 we are calling it Thursday Kids - Monday Edition and moving to Monday afternoon after school.

Our daughter, Lauren, loves to share her love of the miniature breed with others and in 2005 came up with an idea to have others come out after school to learn about them. Some have actually worked with the show horses and participated in shows and we have had some fun shows to practice some Thursday afternoons. The participants range from elementary school through high school seniors. Those who want can sign up for community service hours through the high school Leo Club and participation sometimes has as many as twenty. Grooming, working with the weanlings, training, cleaning stalls, clipping, working with the new guard dog puppies are just some of the activities that Thursday Kids enjoy.

Leo Club also passed out fliers to the neighborhood when we had a series of dog attacks on our herd. A great thank you goes to Mrs. Espinoza. for her efforts in coordinating that effort.
